Artist Statement

BIG LOVE,

I am REINE. Artist, photographer and creator-curator of Artpowerhouse. I was born in Vancouver, British Columbia and raised by a fashion designer father and a mother who painted and placed felt markers or crayons in my hands as soon as I could hold them. I was one of the original Arts Umbrella children in the 70′s and attended The San Francisco Art Institute and the Emily Carr University of Art & Design in Vancouver.

My passion is to manipulate matter and spread love in the world. My skills include photography, painting and design as well as writing, ceramics, fashion and packaging (basically, anything to do with my hands).

A number of years ago I was told that I had to focus on a single aspect of myself if I wanted to succeed while not confusing my audience. I followed that advice and I was successful however, I didn’t feel like a success because so much of myself and my voice, was omitted.

The gifts I was born with and the years of intense practice that I have given myself allow me to capture, share and create a dialogue during an amazing and historic time on this planet. If there was ever a time to ‘give it my all’ now is the time! Finally, the rules and technology are changing at a pace that I understand and the grip of limited belief systems are evaporating globally. Welcome to the new renaissance! This is also a time of coming together to create the beautiful, peaceful and vibrant world that we all desire. Therefore, I welcome individuals to collaborate with me and I accept invitations to collaborate with you too!

I have a number of experiences on my ‘wish list’ which include:

• being the first photographer to shoot a wedding in outer space (check out REINEweddings).
• to sit with a descendant of the tree that Buddha meditated under (I can tell tell you a story about a Bodhi tree seed pod!)
• to create foundations to promote the legacy of our trees, waters and wildlife by creating a path that unites our hearts to and with each other.

I, Reine Mihtla, hereby declare before myself, others and Spirit that my primary purpose in life is to ignite imagination and radiate love by being an authentic and integrated human being who is constantly growing as a woman, world class artist, visionary and voice of my generation.

I am here to do amazing things for the planet by bringing a new paradigm of how LOVE, GRATITUDE and positive IMAGINATION (clean energy) can and will generate global unity. I will travel the world inspiring others as a radiant example of what is possible when a soul is aligned, focused and surrendered to a mission that serves far beyond itself. In doing so, leave a legacy that transcends my lifetime and helps evolve humanity toward a higher and more meaningful existence, consciousness and alignment with the Greater Good.
