Mid November 2012 I was given the keys to my first art studio/POP-UP shop and after extension and exciting extension the space is finally closed. I learned a great many things about people, how my work thus far is being received and even more about myself. I’m sure it will take time for me to process the finer details however, what I know for sure is I have more support than I ever imagined. Initially this was a bit shocking and even unsettling (to my ego) and in the short moment of disbelief (of the blessings) I also felt, actually felt my spirit… energy… expand, dance, high-five and celebrate a shift that had occurred within.

‘The story’ (in my mind) was that one day I would have a show for my art. I believed the event would be presented -to me- and I would be prepared because I’ve created so much of it. The years passed as I distracted myself with life, shooting & creating even more while waiting. As the end of 2012 approached in a single moment I thought ‘SHIT’ I have to do something about this. I have to take a leap! I made some phone calls and found a 3000 sf. gallery space that was available for a single day (the day I wanted) for a show/launch/celebration in December. Our conversations were positive as well as the plan to use the space and then one day the communication stopped. I was confused… and also ‘felt intuitively’ that something was being worked out (which was an odd feeling in itself). A couple days later the option to consider a different space became available out of the blue. It was in a different neighborhood and substantially smaller (400 sf) space. While I was grateful, I was confused how a smaller space would be fun for a show/ launch/celebration? One of my questions were… how many people can I fit in 400sf? I managed to remain grateful as I learned that 20 people would probably be the max. A few minutes later it was suggested that I have a bunch of mini shows instead and I wondered, how is that possible in one day?

Clearly, I was thinking too small. My thought of a one-day show morphed on its own into a month long experience without any effort. This was a powerful reminder that 1. Action is imperative 2. Holding space for my thoughts to come into creation is required and to 3. Maintain a relaxed outlook allowing something even better to occur. As it turned out my one day show turned precisely into 100.

I’m sharing this because the experience is still fresh and with my eyes-wide-open I did my best to record the feelings and process I went through to benefit the next experience that I choose to create plus pass this information onto you to create your own leap/shift/experience…should you choose.

They keys are outlined in the story above. Before I simplify it below I would also like to mention that ‘I Feel’ that my daily attitude of BIG LOVE and gratitude coupled with being in a career which I also love has primed me for feeling good. I still have negative thoughts but these days as they creep into my mind I catch them quickly and either say out loud or in my mind ‘I love you.’ Before I go to bed and every morning before I get up I recite my ever changing gratitude list which always includes sending thanks to the the earth, sun and moon as well as all the trees, the ocean and the oxygen I breath.

Our heart creates an energy frequency that matches our thoughts and to keep the frequency consistent our thoughts also have to be consistent. I liken this to instructors of meditation pointing to ‘focus on your breath’ in order to slow down and then cut out the chatter in your mind. The same is true for focusing your energetic intention projected by your heart. It is not an empty mind that you require in this situation, rather a positive one. A consistently positive one.

  • Step One: Cultivate a consistently positive mind.
  • Step Two: Activate your awareness and ask yourself what you want to achieve (perhaps chose something that you have been wanting for a long time).
  • Step Three: Choose to take responsibility. (Take the first step).
  • Step Four: Add the feeling that you are having fun (through out the entire process.)
  • Step Five: Feel grateful for every piece of information, tangible evidence that something FUN is occurring.
  • Step Six: Leave room for new information and experiences to occur.
  • Step Seven: Feel the deep overwhelming gratitude inside when ‘it’ manifests & celebrate!

What I find interesting from this new perspective is the show/launch idea is out of my system.  I have been offered a larger space to do it again… and I am even more aware of being clear about what I want to create next and choosing the next step vs jumping into an opportunity with no thought at all.

(This means I’m in limbo at the moment because I’m not choosing anything right now… note to self don’t be in limbo too long!)

BIG LOVE & Gratitude to all that visited, supported and encouraged my latest growth spurt.
